Tried and tested conch from Gambier village, Nassau Bahamas

As apart of my top 10 places in Nassau to eat and enjoy a native conch salad; I am glad to announce "Gambier Village". Typical but not so typical!

He was such a happy guy; though not Bahamian!

They've said "The Bahamian people have stood back and allow foreigners to take control" ,don't get me wrong true Conch salad should be made, produced and agriculture by a true Bahamian but, Here's the thing, I am giving my honest review and impression of where I bought and ate my conch salad....he was Haitian migrant but he was so pleasant and empathetic about my critiques to making traditional 'conch Salad' on The Island

Now I'm no expert in scouting conch but I am definitely adequate in knowing what's best, especially here on the Bahama Islands

#1: First Impressions

The stand is located nearby one of the oldest plantation on the island; Gambier village

You can find this village in western new providence, locally among the historic community

Residents of this area rarely leave the area due to long drives to the central part of town

There is a primary School, A church, petty stores, and of course food, food, and more food! This is the perfect downhome chill spot to enjoy a slithery meal

#2: Test as you go

Many people have no idea they can taste test the salad and request until they're are satisfied. That's right! No order to big no request to small at this conch stand.

I'm big on having fresh orange squeezed into my salad, a little more than acceptable to balance the lime and salt; ask politely to have your salad tweaked to your taste!

A favorite traditional salad is the "SCORTCHED CONCH"

Simple but deliciously made includes: Conch, Onion, Salt, Lime, a hint of Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice

A next Favorite is a "REGULAR SALAD"

this conch salad comes with your everyday herbs, which includes: Conch, Onion, Sweet Pepper, Tomato, Celery all mixed in a bowl, seasoned to perfection

A "TROPICAL SALAD" is the new generation craze and it is perfect for fruit lovers

Conch, Mango, Strawberries, Pineapple, and so much more delicious fruits to combine with the savory pleasures of salt, lime, orange

#3: Pros and Cons

Pleaseeee bring back solid bowls. By the time I got to my vehicle my salad was already thrown over in the bag. Respectfully, bring your own bowl if you are planning to transport your salad and not eat right away at the spot

The stand was so close to the road. yikes!

Though I enjoyed my appetizer, I dread the thought of someone driving their car straight off the road and into my lap

pro

10/10 Hospitable service! The servers here were so understanding and open to judgment

Great Price- Most conch stands charge a massive $20 for this cuisine but this stand, although located far beyond imagination, only charged $12 for the scotched conch ordered

The location geographically, is so beautiful, down to earth and serene

If you have ever explored any of the outer Bahamian islands you would agree to say, Gambier Village reminds a lot of those islands and how comfortable and at home you feel visiting

#4: ENJOY
